Right now I've got six suppressors, three SBRs, and one SBS, all on tax stamps and all except two were under the $200 stamp rule. If they deregulate them that number is almost surely to double, but even if they don't I'll probably still end up with more eventually. Point being, the application process (although I don't think it should exist) never deterred me at all.

How do you handle this:
- Wait and see what happens (prices will drop like a rock in ~6 months)
- Jump in ASAP and hope if they change things you will be grandfathered in I'll buy a suppressor the day they are hanging in a blister pack, on a peg, somewhere between the slings and recoil pads, for < $100. It's a "want", not a "need" They’ve quickly moved into the need category. There’s no reason to blow your ears up every time you shoot a deer. They’re worth every penny.

Ive got three cans now and will buy more of them, sooner if this ruling stands. From now on, any new rifle I buy will be set up for suppressor use. Ive got all the parts for a new rifle build to take to the gunsmith this week and I'll only run it suppressed. Just need to find a reamer for a 7-300 PRC.

My issue isn't the "government intrusion", it's just the cost, plain and simple. I'm not putting a muffler on my truck that costs almost as much as the truck itself....
I don't shoot a ton anymore and 90% of the shooting I do is a shotgun. and I always wear ear protection, even in a deer stand. I keep them around my neck so I can pop them up at a moment's notice.
I'd love a few suppressors, and if they got down around the $75-$100 range for "decent" ones, I'd have one on every rifle I own. But I'm just not paying $500 +/- for a metal tube with some baffles in it when some cheap foam earplugs or $20 muffs do just as good.

So did Massie do it all by himself or did others help the cause It was brought up by GOA and Massie along with other like minded members of congress gave assistance to the legal fight. He's not a bad guy, he often does things more in line with what you would approve of than you think. His 2A stance, voting record, and introduced bills make him one of the most ardent 2A supporters in the political circus today. What about Trumps ATF guy???? Does he get a nod?

Wearing hearing protection is not the same as shooting suppressed. Reduced muzzle blast and recoil that ear muffs dont match by a long shot.

Considering many of the newer calibers are dealing with high pressure cartridges they shorter threaded barrels etc to accommodate suppressors. The future is clear
Gissele is making the HICOR to handle the higher pressure 5.56 77 gr SMK thru a 11.5 suppressed barrel running 2700 fps for the military

They’re nothing more than a fad. You can protect your ears a lot cheaper and easier than a 1000 dollar suppressor. And before the ear plugs are a pain to use, so is toting a telephone pole through the woods

And I have shot rifles suppressed. They’re still loud. Only benefit is I don’t have to move my hand to my ear before I shoot. If it’s a good enough deer I’ll deal with the sound.

I probably have 10 or 12 of them now. Now when I start looking to buy a gun, part of that decision is what suppressor I am going to put on it. I'm not shooting rifles anymore without a suppressor. I wish that had been the case my whole life. I'm sure I could hear a lot better out of my left ear

Well how does this stand today? A coworker and I were talking yesterday that they’d probably file at 11:59 last night Silencer Shop transferred two suppressors to Brandon Herrera at 12:01 this morning with nothing but a 4473 form. Most local SOTs are probably going to wait for directions from the ATF before doing that though, I would imagine, as they wouldn’t want to risk having their licenses revoked.
