For those of us concerned with the mass surveillance state and the erosion of our rights, it might be interesting to know who it is pimping for Flock in Alabama. Pimping Flock

I wonder how many suspects have been captured and cases solved maybe even since flock cameras have been in action ??? I can hear the advocates now,,,, see ;;;look at how flock tech has been a tremendous help in solving crime and catching suspects.. great awesome, but for personal use ,,, yeah not cool.

In Atlanta, where the Flock home office is and probably the most flock cameras it has not showed any improvement to crime solving and prevention. However, several police officers have gotten in trouble for misusing the system. Its just a surveillance tool being used to monitor perfectly innocent everyday people.

Waze recently updated their app to show flock cameras. I noticed it the last time I drove to downtown Huntsville. Got home and opened the app on my phone to see all the new features. Plus I can now turn off railroad crossings and other annoying notifications.

Plus I can now turn off railroad crossings and other annoying notifications. I use Waze simply because it will alert you to speed traps, but I really dislike it. I can't prove it, but I'm convinced companies pay Waze to divert you toward their businesses even if it's not the fastest route. I've experienced multiple instances, personally, where it had me routed a certain way that I thought "No way that's the best route", so I diverted from the route and went a different way. As soon as it recalculated, my ETA would be shorter...by several minutes in some cases. I've also noticed that if you're travelling with other people, going to the same place, it'll often send you on slightly different routes even though the starting point and finishing point are identical and you're leaving at the same time. I suspect it uses internet browsing habits to route you toward things it thinks you'd be interested in, even if it's a little slower

I agree on Waze but it's the best option out there right now

Alabama Power has Tubbs bought To be fair, they've bought everyone. He's not alone. Hell, I'm trying to sort out how they can buy me too.

On my motorcyle we'll use it when riding with friends and sometimes he turns left and I turn right LOL. We've checked all of our navigation settings and they are identical (avoid highways, fastest route, etc).

I wonder if Alabama Power could be sued for Flock misuse? Hum... It kind of does cross the line with being a public utility and law enforcement don't it? hmmm I bet there are a lot of lawyer fees in there to make it worth the trouble.

The state forced deer processors to become unpaid game wardens. I thought that crossed a line too. But I don’t have the funds to fight it.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

What is your source that it has “not showed any improvement to crime solving and prevention”. Here you go. https://atlpresscollective.com/2026/07/28/flock-cameras-atlanta-clearance-rates/ Flock, Ring and Atlanta’s network of more than 28,000 integrated cameras haven’t improved city’s crime clearance rates
Despite an eightfold increase in the number of cameras integrated into the city’s Connect Atlanta surveillance program, crime clearance rates have not meaningfully increased, according to data collected by the FBI.
