Took my son to Barber Motorsport museum yesterday it is an amazing place for anyone who has never been. Started talking about dinner on the way home and Stopped by the local Mexican market. They have a butcher shop and you can pick up marinated fajita meat and fresh made tortillas, They also have a fine produce section. We picked up one pound of marinaded flank steak and chicken, onion, peppers and all the rest of the fixings for about 35$. Boho and I used to be members of a vintage motorcycle club and we got to do a behind the scenes tour of Barbers. It was really cool.
A few things about Barber's that most people don't know:
1. Only about 1/3rd of the motorcycle collection is on display at any time. The rest are stored, stacks upon stacks of shelves in giant warehouses across the property.
2. All the motorcycles run and are regularly ridden around the track.
3. All motorcycles are not restored, lots of them are restored to good running condition, but the original patina is kept.
4. I believe he has one of the largest outboard motor collections in the world.
5. I believe he has the largest collection of Lotus automobiles in the world.
6. Right after the track was built, he ripped it all up so cars could race on it too.
7. When he wanted an Indycar race there is once again tore up parts of the track so Indycar would put a race there.
