Went out for a couple of hours yesterday evening...bite was slow until the sun got down behind the tree line. Once the sun was off the water, the bite turned on. Caught a few, all in the 2-3 pound range. Caught a couple SHALLOW....like, belly-crawling with their backs out of the water like a redfish, shallow. Also got a few hits throwing around lily pads.

That little pink/white gurgler is a one-off that I got free. Community Fly Supply in Gulf Shores has a board outside the shop where folks can stick unwanted flies for other folks to take for free. I saw it on my way out of the shop last summer and grabbed it. Caught a couple of reds and specks on it, but I've lost count of the bass it's caught. It is just about worn slap out, most of the hair/fur from the tail is missing, the fur/fuzz underneath it is worn out and it's dingy, but it still catches fish. Really need to find someone that can make me a few more of it before I inevitably lose this one, because I've never seen one quite like it.
