Since moving to Turtletown TN, several of wife’s school mates and family members have introduced me to several things and ways I’m not accustomed to. A few months ago, one of them said, fertilize the heck out of those mimosa trees along the creek and I did. Couple months ago, they said it was time to make some feel good medicine. Had my first sample the other night after sitting since then. I’ve heard of tincture, but this concussion was off the charts.

John, I think you need to get back down here to the sunshine!
An Appalachian medicine kind of like the video above but modified. Fill jars with as much mimosa flowers you can smash in them. Add vodka and leave a half inch of headspace. Water bath can for fifteen minutes. Let it rest for a couple months. Strain through coffee filters then put in a bottle with airtight lid.
I’ve seen a lot of tinctures on TikTok with mimosas flowers and the bark once the flowers fall off, also the use of devil’s walking stick, and mullein. May have to start trying these tinctures.
I will have to add this to my cabinet. I make Tea and Tincture of mullein for congestion and colds and believe me it works. Tea from the leaves are ok but the tincture(Vodka) from the roots is best. It will knock out a cold in a couple days. Wife refused to take it with the crud last winter and went 2 rounds of antibiotics. I made old home made whiskey toddy with a table spoon of my mullein tincture and was cleared up by day 3. Tastes horrible like old school cough syrup.
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!
It saved my 83 year old FIL when he got the Corona several years ago. We thought it was over for him until a local boy gave us the brew. I was told a couple months ago this is what he was given and another person helped me make a batch. Yes, some of the people on here think I’m crazy, but I’m now a believer in Cherokee medicine man concoctions. Another one helped get my BP from around 135/85 to a steady 120/80 with only natural stuff from the Forrest.
