Anyone going to the Expo this weekend?
I hope to go Sunday if a day in the woods liming green fields doesn't set me back.
I don't need much, but like seeing what's new this year and talking to a lot of knowledgeable people.
Easy to get in and out and only cost a can of food or $1 to get in.
Hope to see some of you there.

It’s been a long time since I went. They used to have some good concerts at the train station on Saturday night.

I used to enjoy it back then until I figured out that the vendors were all looking for fools willing to part with money for silly items and, I say this with as much humility as I can muster, very few of them knew as much about hunting Blackbelt deer as I did from life's best teacher, doing it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Most of the booths selling turkey calls are knowledgeable people. Eddie Salter is a knowledgeable turkey hunter. Some of the booths offer good information on what they are selling. I agree, not all of them.

I’m surprised that when Jackie sold his building in Pike Road, that he moved to Montgomery instead of a closer city/ town with conservative values like Auburn. With the crime rate in Montgomery and the demographics, it’s a horrible location for a hunting expo that lasts three days.

When I used to run Walter Craig, I had to work it and it was a handful, I had 31 booths at one time that I was responsible for. Alot of work. That was when there were a lot of good vendors, Buckmaster's used to bring in good talent to draw crowds. Funniest year was when the 22lr shortage was going on and I pulled up with 3 pallets of 22lr ammo. People went crazy.

Raven I remember those Walter Craig booths! I’ve still got a lot of the rifle ammo I bought from you.

The highlight for me was always stopping by the Minnow Bucket booth. I bought my first bow there and bought my son’s first deer rifle and scope from Luther at the show. Of course it didn’t hurt that his smokin hot daughter always worked the booth with him.

I’ll likely be there with the kids to get them out the house and see some bull riding.

We’re taking the grandsons on Sunday. Sort of a tradition now. We enjoy it.

Was the show a handful or was it your helpers that you had there? grin

I do miss working the show though

Some good seed companies like WMS are usually there along with several others. On Sunday they usually have some good markdowns. They don't want to have to load everything up and haul back. Tree stands are a good example.
