I remember when it seemed like most people you met were decent moral people and rarely proved otherwise , now if you meet someone new and don’t assume that they are a worthless sack of shat out for something for nothing and willing to lie, cheat, steal and take advantage of any person or situation, most people will soon prove why you should approach life that way.

I’m glad I’m closer to the finish line than the starting line.

One of the many positive sides of farming, 90% of the people I deal with are good folks. Few bad apples, but you learn em and go on. Fortunate to be able to do what I do.

I keep my sense of humor and my sense of childlike wonder about things.
I view the world as this absurd place that I have no control over.
I only have control over my own thoughts, emotions and actions.

Life is better that way...

I just keep to myself these days. It’s easier that way. Sucks at times but it’s easier.

I pretty much do the same.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

This is my life. It is so hard to make friends at this stage of life. I block out time, they cancel.

My life exactly. I got tired of blocking out time so I just decided to stop reaching out at all and see who would reach out to me and how long it would take. 10 months. A group of guys I thought were dear friends, it took 10 months for one to finally notice. That’s pretty much what pulled me away from church too. “F” it. It is what it is.

Yep, I remember when you used to be able to give most people you met the benefit of the doubt, but not these days! I don't know what is worse, all the immoral people or all the straight up retarded ones.

I certainly understand that. Relationships are a two way street. i find the more I put into relationships the more I get out of them. There are certainly instances where that doesn't happen. That's why unfortunately we have relatives and friends that we rarely associate with.

What really bugs me is that what was "normal" 20-30 years ago is now viewed as a minority of backwards thinking dinosaurs. And the new normal is what was viewed as crazy eccentric the same amount of time ago.

The script has been flipped, and not for the better. I agree with the OP. I'm glad I'm closer to the finish line than the starting point, but I worry about my two sons. God only knows what they are going to have to deal with on their path. As two heterosexual caucasian males, they will likely get the crappy end of the stick at every turn.

I'm in the prime of my life. I only make intentional conversation with family and friends. If you're outside that group and spout words at me, I'm probably reaching for personal comfort and interpreting your next move.

The few times I've tried to open up and be "friendlier", I opened up to a-holes. I've learned my lesson.

I always find others in the same boat. They just live 90 miles away like you do. LOL. I’d love to have a few buddies to sit around a fire pit with and have a drink or two. Just not in the cards for me. My two good friends live a long ways off. Nashville for one and between T-Town and Starkvegas for the other. We talk pretty regularly but I only see them maybe once a year.
