Well I was going yearly just hoping Bloodwork may show any issue before I noticed any symptoms. But I recently changed Dr's. 2 questions. Do y'all take new patients and do you accept my insurance. Yes. Well, I had a face to face to meet my new Dr once, and 3 months later my blood was drawn for labs. I never heard from them since. But I did get a bill for $497.00. I think I'm done unless i get freaky sick. I'm tired of people and a system trying to ra pe people Were your labs normal?

My mom sat in an emergency room “ admitted” to the hospital for 36 hours. A doctor came in 1 time that ran an ekg and blood work. Sent her home. A week later a bill to her insurance showed for $60000. Absolutely ridiculous. They literally spent 5 minutes with her. That’s an expensive room

If not ; I would request a copy Once you have a baseline you can follow and trends/changes? Personally; I do my labs BEFORE my appointment. At UAB; they are posted to the portal within 24-48 hours(unless they have to grow a culture or something that takes time) and I review them and have my questions(if anything is out of normal range) to discuss with Dr. on my appointment. Most efficient for the Dr and myself. The UAB portal system is excellent.

I’ll see my doc in the morning and I’ll have labs an hour before. He’ll have the results when we meet. Only a few times I’ve had to wait and they call immediately when they finally get the results.

As far as trust in docs. It depends but none of mine have it in for me so I’ll start with that. Always have given options if possible and they’re all DOs The only time I didn’t have a choice was when I got a stent. I guess I did have a choice it wanted it. 😂
It’s probably given some of yall some relief 😝
