I see the irony of typing this on an Internet forum, and I know it’s been said on here before, but lately I have had such a longing for the old days. Days without the internet, cell phones, computers, satellite/streaming tv. Not having instant news of something that happened 800 miles away, that didn’t even affect us in any manner. It just had to be reported. Hand crank windows in single cab pickups, with the vent windows. Kids playing outside from the time they woke up until the sun went down, because that’s all there was to do. Riding bicycles. Drinking from a hose pipe because who ever heard of buying water in a plastic bottle? Homemade ice cream or an iced down watermelon was a huge treat. Eating fast food was done maybe 2-3 times a year. Eating out at a restaurant was maybe once every month or two. Hee Haw on Saturday nights, Bill Dance on Saturday afternoon, cartoons on Saturday morning. Church/community socials was where you saw folks and got caught up with them. I could go on and on.
