I'm nearing completion of this 10-22 build and now looking for a decent scope. I'll probably use this mostly for squirrel hunting. What scope would you guys put on it?

Components:
- Tactical Solutions SB-X Ruger 10/22 Prefit Barrel 22 Long Rifle 16.5" Black Heavy Contour 1:16" Twist
- Franklin Armory BFSIII Binary trigger cartridge assembly
- Volquartsen Firefly Bolt 2.0
- MAGPUL Hunter X-22 Stock
- SILENCERCO Sparrow 22 Suppressor
- Picatinny rail on top.

I bought this one last fall for a Ruger 22mag and I really like it. It’s made well!

^^^^ That is EXACTLY the scope that I was going to recommend. I've scoped numerous 22s over the years and that Burris is at the top of my list. The glass is crystal clear for not much money and the warranty is forever.

Why do you need 14x for squirrel hunting? These have 50yd parallax; you can also get 3-9x40

Whatever you get: in my opinion make sure it is adjustable focus. I don't know if I'll ever have another scope without it, but especially a scope that I may shoot at closer range. Even the rimfires that are parallax adjusted to 50 yards are not as easy on my eyes as ones I can truly focus at the exact distance I would like. Being perfectly focused just makes shooting more fun.

If you don't get adjustable focus, at least make sure it's a rimfire that's parallax free at 50 yards. Unless this is something you know you will exclusively shoot at 100 yards+.

Sure, but it might be overkill... I have two of them and they really aren't to bad. They also make a 3-9 with that reticle.

I'd like that Hawke if it had dots. Personally, I have a real dislike for crosses like that in a scope

They are pretty fine holdover marks. Was out with my Bergara 17HMR this week and 200 yard cross was dead on. Was hitting small rocks, etc. Hope to try it at greater distance when I get a chance.
