Yup. They wont use all 1,400 acres. It may get whittled down to about 300 acres of actual panels. Still that chunk of land will effectively be lost. When somebody at the Federal level eventually gets paid enough, you can expect Tuskegee NF to go up for sale.

The I-85 corridor from the Gump to Auburn is going the same direction as I-20 for B-Ham to T-town.

Reckon what 300 acres worth of panels would pay out per year? Seems like they could have kept land in tack and made it roll some cash some other way. Guess not though


I heard on a podcast last week that some of these solar leases are $4000/acre per year for the best locations. Proximity to big cities and the power grid are things to consider. That’s serious $$$
