My take is I don’t trust most people. Especially the government. However I do think we need some type of inspections on food no matter where it’s grown. I would trust a private party to do the inspections a little more the I would a government employee. That’s not saying much. I’ve stated on here before that we are fortunate to have people we grew up with and really trust that we can buy beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and even veggies and seafood if I didn’t grow it or catch it myself. We still have to buy things from the store because we live in the real world and know there is no way to produce or make everything it takes to live. I don’t like having control of things but that’s part of life so we have to buy things from the store. I think you should be able to sell your freeze dried products at a farmers market to whoever wants to buy them. However unless I knew you really well, no way would I buy that. For the simple fact I don’t know how it was handled. But because I know enough about you I’d buy anything you have to sell in a heartbeat. I think the USDA has its place but I also think it has way to much control and needs to be pulled back a bunch.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
