We also fought to win that war. We haven’t since. We go in half cocked and don’t let our military do their job. So in the last 90 years we have had one successful war. So yes we are wildly unsuccessful at regime change
There is more easy money to be made from waging war than winning it. If you actually win the war then you have to pay for it, that was the lesson of WWII.
