which one are you?

I don't know about any of those stereotypes, but I'm the kind of motorcycle rider that will take a bike across the country to the Grand Canyon and also take that same bike down a bunch of trails in the backwoods of Harlan County, Kentucky just for the adventure of it all...

This pic is pretty, but we were freezing our asses off, because it was over 100 degrees on the desert floor, then it started raining on us as we drove up to the canyon rim and the temps dropped to 55 degrees. I was shivering so badly when I took this pic that I could hardly hold the camera still.

This is the dirt portion of the Little Sheppard's trail. This is one of the nicest sections where we stopped and took a pic. The rest of it sucked pretty bad. We had some European guys pass us on some KLR 650s and DR650s and they couldn't believe we were out there on 500 pound ADV bikes.



My buddy Dennis always keeps a pint of Captain Morgan in his top case to celebrate at the end when we don't get killed.

That's a pretty funny vid especially if you've ever been around bike guys. The categories are accurate though most of the fellas I know have some cross over. However, I do not know about electric bike guy... have not been in the bike circle lately enough to have experienced him.

The fellows pictured above.. they will leave you. I mean they will leave you in their dust and you'll have to figure out where the final meet up is because you got left behind because you wanted to enjoy the scenery and the ride. Except Irish has never left me behind.

As a former bike shop employee those stereotypes are valid. Except for bar hopper guy who comes in for an oil change since it's been 12 months and he's put a grand total of 119 miles from bars to home in those 12 months. Ride leader guy who shows up two months before ride for tires brakes oil change and his 17 riding buddies who want the same 4 days before the ride. *Warning Harley Davidson Triggering* "Performance HD guy" who has every chrome Screaming Eagle upgrade available can quote cam sized compression ratios ad nauseum....has never been past 50 mph on his bike. Sleeper guy has a soft gray or light blue Harley whose on his fourth engine because he has spent the money and been to track days and will take Performance HD guys money. Old Goldwing guy who needs his second set of tires this summer has ordered tires himself shows up with tires pays cash upfront and buys lunch for the shop because he knows it's going to be awhile.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny. I've been watching a lot of motorcycle videos lately. I think, I'm having a midlife crisis, lol! I'm most likely to get one before too much longer. I'm wanting a Trike though, I grew up with three wheelers (ATV) and have owned four wheelers (ATV) my whole life. I'd feel more comfortable I believe. I've been divorced 10yrs now and haven't gone anywhere except for the river. I just want to hit the road and ride, no destination in mind, and take my time.

No, I don't imagine Irish to leave you anywhere.

Everything that I wear when I ride, everything I have on my bike, and everything I carry in my bike luggage has a purpose, except for all the goofy stickers I put on my motorcycle luggage and they have a purpose too... to remind me of the places I've been or to let people know not to take me too seriously.

The most important thing is to get out there, have fun, see places you've never been, be a good person and make it back home safe to your family.

I'm a Harley guy - full bagger. Put me in whatever category you want LOL. Currently on a 2024 CVO Road Glide. About to head to South Dakota the week AFTER bike week (I'm not a people person - would rather ride and see the sights vs sit in bike traffic). Been to the desert, top of Pikes Peak, South Dakota multiple times, Montana another time, Colorado, all over New England and almost everywhere in between. Haven't ridden the West Coast yet, but will in about 5 years when I retire.

That's exactly what I want to do.

Yeah, I'm not into people either. I'm an introvert and I get enough extroverting at work dealing with all the staff and public. The last thing I want is to be stuck with a bunch people doing what they want to do, going where they want to go, eating what they want to eat and so on. I did that for 15yrs with my ex-wife.

I just know that ridding my four-wheeler through the woods, feeling the wind, smelling the air and just listening to my inner voice or talking to the Lord. I feel the freest and relaxed. Same when sometimes I get out on the river and just ride. I now just want to ride the back roads and be free.

Even if it's just Alabama. Been here my whole life and haven't seen it all. Most guys on here are always talking about places across the state. Little whole in the wall eating places and such. Not much talk about stuff down this way, except for Gulf/Shores and Orange beach. It all could slip off into the water and I wouldn't even notice. Sorry Irish, lol!

I would recommend doing the stretch of Pacific Coast Highway 1 between San Simeon, CA to Half Moon Bay, CA along the Central Coast. It is and unbelievably beautiful place to see. Take the 17 mile Scenic Drive along Pebble Beach as well. Just a beautiful area to sight see and ride.

I must be some kind of crossover confused biker type as I have a 2019 Triumph Tiger 800 with the side boxes and top box and a 2005 BMW K1200 LT which is the smoothest bike I have ever rode . I have to have electronic cruise control cause I am old and need to rest my hands from time to time . I ride both just depending on my mood and what I intend to go and do .

This has been on my bucket list for decades! I won't be on a bike when I go but I'll love it the same. I wonder why I haven't explored the west very much. It's absolutely amazing.

If you want to go for a ride or an ADV trip holler at me. I keep my Tiger down here for now, so I'm not too far away.

I think I'll have to retire before I can make that trip....but that is only 4.5 years away (not that I'm counting LOL).

I do not like any scents and I'm more of a flip flop guy. It's easier to kill a palmetto bug with a flip flop.

My bike is like a Crotch Rocket, a Jeep Rubicon and a Swiss Army Knife all had a baby together.
