The point I was really trying to make is that we look at a situation like this and we think its horrible and shameful and so on and so forth…..but the reality is that those 30 bucks he shot or whatever it was……they count just the same as 30 that are shot over the limit……and yet we see that as just pretty meh……despite the fact that there are likely multiple times more being “poached” this way…….Just because its dark outside doesn’t make the offense or the impact somehow way worse…..They all count the same on the accounting ledger

Where I hunt is pretty much poacher paradise. Split by a public road with little very traffic, we don't have a camp house and no one stays there overnight. GW was talking to my brother down there last year and told him about a guy they caught down there. Would come up out of the Florida panhandle and had a buddy that would drop him off and pick him up. Took them a while to nail him but eventually got him. GW said he killed the hell out of deer around that area for years.

More bucks are shot over the limit than are poached at night I'm gonna call straight up bullshit on that statement. I'm not gonna try to prove you wrong - you prove me wrong. How many guys do you think are out there like this one that just blatantly go around night hunting??.....It’s way, way less the number of guys who will shoot 2 bucks in the same afternoon or shoot a 4th and not check it……I have folks tell me about it all the time when I’m tracking……Last year wasn’t as bad but the year before that I think I had 9 tracks where someone shot two bucks on the same hunt.......I'm sure there's no actual data on it but if there was it wouldnt even be close Did you still do the tracks for these people that shot two bucks in one day or shot their fourth buck?

I don’t go on anything sketchy that I know about ahead of time….. I’ve turned down quite a few over the years because of it sounding shady…….One dude called me years ago and flat out told me he just spotlighted a good one from the back door of his trailer with buckshot….Wanted to know if I’d bring the dogs out that night……I’m like “Uhhhhh… no” ……and I I’m thinking damn I cant believe you just called up a stranger and told them that  The majority of the time I get told about stuff is after the fact when everyone is excited about finding the deer and that rush of dopamine hits………People start telling all then …  ….I’ll tell you though like I tell them……I’m not the game warden and I’m not there to enforce the rules…..That’s between you and them……Anything else and I plead the fiff……One, two, three, fo…..fifff!!!

Man has been trying to follow laws since Moses came back down the mountain. It hasn't worked out to well for them. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I'll be honest. If I'm hunting this coming season on my own property, and a 120" buck comes in, I'm shooting it, and while I set there giving it time and a 140" walks out, I'm gonna wad his butt up too🤣. I hear you.......The reality though is that most of them are just dinks that get shot this way And another reality is that many Big Bucks are Poached I know of several fellows that have huge bucks on their wall but not legally taken. Just can’t prove they weren’t One of those guys only hunt from a car or truck lol

He was already assured he was going back to prison over it on the felon in possession of a gun charges and knew it. He also probably knew that the wildlife convictions in AL would not carry any significant additional penalty for him so he just owned it all for his wife and friend.
