Because a single cab work truck is $50,000 and a decent(notice how I didn’t say extravagant) house not in BFE is $300,000-400,000 I bought my first house in Leeds, Alabama in a nice little neighborhood called Bridle Trace. I bought it for $34k. 3 bedroom 2 bath. That was in the late 80's. That house was probably 1.5-2X’ish your annual income? Which today for most is a complete pipedream. Someone will be around soon enough to say pull yourself up by the bootstraps
