Canada is such a joke. Canadian possum cops gettin er done... What these two hikers needed was less (as in no) video and more 454 Casull. Even better, stay out of Canada and don't spend a cent there.

Canada is a joke

Remember Canadian possum cops were ticketing folks for hiking in the wilderness during covid, the nearest other humans were miles away.

Anybody dumb enough to film a grizzly bear encounter rather than getting their dog under control.....Zero sympathy.

So you are ok with a $25k fine for a dog off the leash? Wow.

I think they deserve whatever comes their way for posting it. The sooner people learn to keep their business off of Social Media the better.

I am in favor of it. It's ridiculous how many people I see with dogs off leash on hiking trails, even though the rule says they must be leashed. And I am sick of seeing them in restaurants.

Excessive fine, yes. But they knew the rules before playing the game.

We should start fining foreigners like that! Yellowstone would make millions, and maybe some Americans could enjoy some of these places again!

The article said their video went viral. I don't know how much they were paid for posting it, but I'm guessing that the crazy high fine was to insure that they didn't profit from their own stupidity. I could be wrong though. I almost was one time, but it was a mistake.

So rules don't matter? What if I decide to dump my trash in the middle of now where, is that ok? Can I put up a meth lab? Store junk cars? Set up a poaching camp? How about I cut down trees and build a log cabin? Or sell the timber?

Just want to see where your standard is.

Do you have the discernment to see the difference in something as minor as having a dog off the leash vs running a meth lab? Just want to see if you have any common sense.

That may well be the case.

As a personal note, I was a park ranger for 8 years. I encountered plenty of decent people with dogs off the leash. Once I had a particular gal hiking with her dog off the leash. On my first encounter with her I was very nice and explained the rules and that the dog had to be leashed. When we parted, I circled around to intentionally cross paths with her again. Guess what? Yep, the dog was loose again. This time I told her sternly that the dog had to be leashed. Some time later I encountered her for a third time, dog off the leash. What did I do? Tase her? Draw down? Choke hold? Cuff and stuff? Nope, but she was physically escorted off the property and told that if she returned that day I'd arrest her for trespass and take her to jail, on the spot. That was a reasonable way to handle her and I never saw her again.

Most folks were simply and politely asked to leash their dog and gladly did so. I'll stand beside my original assessment. $25K for a dog off the leash is outrageous and ridiculous. It is the result of retards in charge.

Or a super power.
