For those following James Spann, we have had 5 separate bear sightings in Shelby Co since Friday with photos. Oak Mountain, Calera, Columbiana. Safe to say, we've got bears now. I know they have been around in small populations with rare sightings, but it looks like we got a decent population. I know South Alabama has had them for a while. Anyone notice much predation on the fawn population or changes? I can’t remember which podcast I was listening to but they were talking about the studies showing black bears as efficient fawn killers. It may have been deer university podcast
