I went in an attic today around 2p. I have an ice vest for such occasions. Damned ice melted and I was boiling by the time I came out. Never had the ice completely thaw that fast.
Then came home to work the garden about 6:30 and it was still so damned hot I didn't have a dry stitch on me when I came in. I sweated so hard my fingers got wrinkly.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

I know I am getting older but I can’t remember heat quite like the past week or so. About 3-6pm is off the chart hot!
Hunting brings out the worst in people.

I tell you dudes what, the heat today was dang near enough to put this 60 year old 6 feet under. I run equipment that don't have any AC & danged if it aint rough. Better be careful in this crap. Winter can't get here fast enough. Like I told outback though, I can't fully enjoy the cold for dreading the summer that's always right around the corner. It's a vicious cycle when you hate the summer heat as bad as I do.

I am all about doing some pre-season work for the whitetails on fields and stands and minerals etc. But right now I would rather them all die of blue tongue this summer than to be out there doing anything! Heat sucks ass, the ticks are awful, and God knows with all the rain the mosquitoes have never been as bad as they are right now.
I have been in my current house going on 20 years and can honestly say that I have NEVER had the first issue with mosquitoes but man they are everywhere right now!!!!

Weatherman on 48 said some spots in the Tennessee Valley hit 115 heat index today. There was a slight breeze around 2 this afternoon, felt like a full body blow dryer.

We are on Yellowstone today and tomorrow and it’s 90 degrees here. Headed to glacier national park tomorrow for some cooler temps.

I'm thankful for the shade at my cabin. I installed water lines, drains for the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and shower crawling around under the floor in the dirt. Then hung gutters on the back side to catch rain water.
