I’m in also in the middle of building a house. Usually there is one guy in the crew that is the designated “speaks English” guy. If you ask one of the crew a question, they automatically point to the “speak English” guy as broken as it may be.

On my last house build, the tile guys had built one of the soap inlays in the shower way too high. Instead of measuring the distance from the floor, they measured the distance from the bottom of the tub. The guy didn’t speak any English and I was getting a little hot. Finally, I had to call one of my wife’s best friends who taught high school Spanish for 30 years and hand him the phone. Finally got the message across and they fixed it.
