I'm a Charcoal guy. Always have been. I do have a small gas grill on my porch at hunting camp. Only because it's quicker in the evenings after a hunt.

What's y'all's favorite?

My back porch currently has a pellet grill, a small weber kettle, a 4-burner gas grill I got free from a neighbor, and a 36" griddle.

(I may have a hoarding problem)

Big gas grill full of lava rocks to soak up grease and keep burners clean.
It will get HOT and roll some smoke.
Charcoal is 50/50 for me, half the time I taste it later.

Agree; BGE for slow cooking or when I have time to grill over charcoal fire. Lynx Sedona natural gas with one infrared burner for quick and easy like chicken, burgers, lamb chops , etc.

Charcoal started in a chimney with paper. Either mesquite, hickory or oak chunks thrown on charcoal after dumping chimney in grill.

Big Green Egg for me but wouldn't mind a decent smaller gas grill at times.

I use a Pit Boss with propane on one side, and pellets on the other for smoking. Propane is just easier and quicker. But I recently got a Blackstone 36" griddle to use as well. I can fry stuff up and not have to listen to the wifey complain about a mess in the kitchen. BUT, I'm finding it's a bit of a PITA to haul all ingredients outside.

Weber 3 burner gas grill for quick stuff
Traeger Flatrock 2 Burner propane griddle for more involved meals
Traeger Ironwood pellet grill for smoking

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin

Blackstone!! Taste the meat not the heat!

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Speaking of Lump Charcoal
I've found that the Jealous Devil at Walmarks and it's quality stuff.
Not a lot of dust and crumbs like the others. I take the big chunks and save them for the low and slow cooks.

I have a 36" Blackstone, an electric Masterbuilt smoker, and a small weber in my camper, but the best tasting food comes off of an old stainless barrel type charcoal grill that my crazy uncle left me.

i do the same thing. Other buddies see me picking out the big pieces and are like, "What the Hell are you doing?" I'm like, "You don't know how to cook." grin

I have a BGE that I use to cook steaks, chicken halves, pork chops and vegetable's on. A Yoder pellet smoker that I use just for smoking meats, and a Webber 5 burner gas grill for hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids. Pro tip for the gas grill. Take a small aluminum pan and poke some holes in the bottom of it. Then put some wood pellets in and set then under the grates on each side of the grill. Let the grill heat up to 350 or so and then spray some cooking spray like Pam on the grates to burn off old cooking's and spray on the pellets to light them. After the pellets start smoking then start cooking. It gives a gas grill some flavor.
