What is a good coon/possum bait for DP trap and live traps that won't wash-out or go bad after a rain - not sure if there is such a thing but thought I'd ask. Coons and possums are out-of-control at my place. Killing off my chickens, wiping out my fruit trees (peaches and apples) and figure the corn in my garden is next once it starts making. I have a dog that stays kenneled but I do let him run around some when I'm around, so I don't want to put poison or off-set traps out because he is sure to get into them.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I use dry cat food. But the rain will make it mushy. Sardines is also one of my favorites.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Marshmallow's work great, but I have a problem with the damn ants down here at times.

It meets none of your stipulations but they are unable to resist a piece of cantalope.

1/4 of a honey bun under the trigger of a dp is the best coon combo I’ve found

Marshmallow's work great, but I have a problem with the damn ants down here at times. Diatomaceous Earth sprinkled around the trap. Usually they have a small bellows type applicator you can dust it on with.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Gummy lifesavers , you can slide them on trigger and the coon is caught.

I do my best to keep a couple gallon sprayer with permethrin to spray around traps and feeders to keep ants away and now’s the time to spray the outside along with the perimeter of shooting houses with the same for wasps, chiggers, and whatever else before work time. Spray under the carpet to keep Asian beetle ladybug things out.

I have probably caught 75 off my 256 in 3 1/2 - 4 years and predominantly been with corn. When it hit like this - something sweet the aunts get before the coon Sometimes I add an attractant like moonshine or sweet smell
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever
