This plant right here. Its called Carolina Snail Vine and it loves to grow on chain link fence. Its poisonous to dogs and people, especially the red berries when it has them. If your dog chews on the vines, their face will swell up like its been snake bit. My new puppy saw me pulling some of it off the chainlink and she grabbed it, ran around with it, and chewed on it. I didnt think nothing of it, then she swole up. A trip to the after hours emergency vet in Montgomery and $300 less in my pocket and Birdie is fine. The dog is taking Benadryl and Pepcid, and got a steroid shot. It caused a rapid allergic reaction but because she didnt really eat it, no further issues to deal with. That picture was after the meds started to reduce the swelling. Before that her eyes were totally swole shut.

Not showing this pic to my wife, she would start crying But nobody could love puppies and dogs more than her. I really love them too,but nothing compared too her. Sure hope everything is good for the pup !

Had an emergency vet visit a month ago go over my lab eating a lot of green tomatoes and grass

Glad your pup is going to be ok and I appreciate you sharing this. We almost killed our dog back in May due to onion toxicity. She shouldn’t have made it but pulled through.

She's still swole up a little bit this morning but she hasn't slowed down a bit. At least I got an excuse to give her a benadryl so she'll take a nap and I can get some stuff done.

Carriage Hills Animal Hospital in Montgomery is the only emergency after hours vet in the region. It was $189 just to walk in the door at 9:30 last night. $301 for the entire visit. The vet said they had already treated a snake bite that evening and figured our dog was going to be the same thing.
