I think if we want to be honest with ourselves about this we need to go back to when...

The United States, alongside the United Kingdom, overthrew Iran's democratically elected government in August 1953 through a covert operation codenamed Operation Ajax. The CIA-backed coup removed Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh and solidified the absolute rule of the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. That's where the problems we currently have with Iran started.

Had we handled that differently there is a strong case to be made that Iran would not be the Islamic Fundamentalist country they are today and would probably be our greatest ally in the middle east and perhaps not Israel.

Absolutely, Iran and every other country that hates us sent bad actors over here during that debacle. Why are we only focusing on Iran? Maybe, because the real target of the globalists is the US. This war and the strait being closed is going to kill Trump's recovery plan and that is exactly what Larry Fink and his ilk want.

The question I am more curious about is: Do you think bombing them and killing more of their leadership is going to get them to capitulate? Do y’all think we should put boots on the ground?

Would love to get Outback, Carter, Kyles, Abolt, Jawbone, AU338MAG to answer these questions but they seem to conveniently ignore the questions they don't have a good answer to. Ignorant bliss is strong with this crowd

There isn't a doubt in my mind that we would win that engagement, but at what cost? A million man army ain't nothing to play with and they have been preparing for this for 40 years. Is another war of attrition the best use of our time right now?

I served with a SP MAGTF task force Rhino in OIFIII, 2005. Seabees attached to Recon Marines 2nd LAR and later with 1st LAR in the Al Anbar Province. Those young Marines were genuinely pissed off if nobody was shooting at us.

I’ll say it again. The only thing that pisses me off is when they took our people hostage and humiliated them and our country for 444 days. They got it coming.

I believe it and thank you for your service. I love this country and hate how far we have fallen. Our military is second to none, but we still have our limitations, and I am concerned this war is going to kill Trump's recovery plan if it hasn't already.

What part of that statement offended you? Is your question about killing more leadership? You answered it your own self when you said nothing short of a nuke would defeat them. No nukes need to ever be used in this world again. our problem with your group is you don't understand the danger of Iran with nukes . Now i am going to go get on my tractor and spend all day burning 5.29 cents a gallon diesel fuel. You come across a little harsh and thinking you are soupier in your replies just like we all do. But I got to get me a big bag of popcorn cause its getting interesting around here. I don't dislike you just because I don't agree with you. I would say pickaxe mountain may need to be monitored and maybe even hit again. Guys on here that served over there know way more than you and I do

I think trump missed the timing for capitulation as you put it. Should’ve hit when the uprisings were happening. There’s a segment of the population that’d like to go back to an earlier time. There’s been several documentaries showing this. The hardcore extremist are in charge and thing they understand is death. Give it to them

Iran has sponsored the extremist donuts past time to pay.

I’ve said it before
Trump thinks they’ll be an uprising. That’s the only thing to make sense as to why infrastructure is being avoided for total destruction.

I'm bad about writing lengthy posts, reviewing and editing them and then forgetting to hit the post button and it looks like I've done that again. I was pointing out that America is not at war with Iran, per se, but with the regime that is run by fanatics that are holding the Persian and Kurdish et al. population hostage. That is who we are at war with. That is who we need to take down. Apparently, Trump realizes this and that is why we have bent over backwards to avoid mass civilian casualties. With our superiority in missile and air attacks, we could have long ago ended this but it would have been at a high cost to the civilian population in Iran. This is one of the big dilemmas countries face when fighting terrorism. When there is damage to the civilian population you always run the risk of creating more terrorists. Personally, I would have done this the way Trump has except I would not have "negotiated" with a group knowing they are just stalling for time and have never negotiated in good faith. If I know this then surely Trump and his advisers know it also. I would have bombed every military target they have and keep bombing every time they launch a rocket since we can pinpoint those exact locations in real time.

Meanwhile, I would have ours, and Israel's assets do what they can to encourage an overthrowing of the Mullahs. They would know better than I about the likelihood of that happening. If that doesn't look likely, then perhaps it is time to take out some key bridges and power plants. The Mullahs plan to cause us, as civilians, energy inconvenience, it might be time soon to return the favor, again though, I hate to do this against a civilian population that really is not our enemy.

In summary, I think Trump and his crew have a plan and don't want to take the gloves completely off. Despite what our Jew hating group on here claim, Bibi is not running Trump, but the other way around. Trump and crew have convinced Israel to hold off on attacking civilian harming targets. How long that will last, I have no idea, but for right now, it seems to be working together with a total blockade of their ports

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The gulf states of Bahrain and Kuwait have launched strikes against Iran with the help of UAE
This is completely the opposite of what Iran expected
The majority of the civilian population in Iran cannot stand the islamists nor are many of them Muslim
Their country was was hijacked in 79’ and that ideology has spread like a virus
Lebanon used to be a tourist destination and was called the Paris of the Middle East and now no one wants to visit there
From what I’m reading there are different ethnic groups that are beginning to fight back against the IRGC effectively making them fight on several different fronts and now that some of the Arab states are joining in the fray coupled with the continuing strikes by the US the IRGC may be overthrown soon

I might be misunderstanding your post; but Iran is 99% Muslim. 90–95% shia, 5-10% sunni. Iran is the world's largest shia-majority country.

Won't happen. Our military is not prepared to wage a conflict fought with drones. The military has even admitted they let X number of Iranian missiles and drones through because there is not enough of a stockpile of weapons left to shoot all of them down. No better example than Ukraine and Russia. Putin thought he could win it in seven days. Now the Russian economy is on the brink of collapse. Drone warfare changed all that.
