A spot in Dallas County was looked at as a Nuclear Power Plant site, but my understanding is that went away over geology concerns. Now it has come up again as a site for mini reactors. AL power already owns the land so that hurdle is cleared. Dangit. I hope they don't. That's my most favorite area on Earth. Yup Claude Strother if I remember correctly was the last private landowner and he sold it to APCO around 2008 - 2010ish or so. I could be a few years off on those dates. Its incredible property, dang lot of sites all over it. Whatever APCO ends up doing with it those sites will have to be mitigated or worked around. Claude died just recently. He was a big turkey hunter and he made it in Outdoor Life last year for getting mauled by a bobcat in Wilcox County. https://www.outdoorlife.com/survival/bobcat-attacks-turkey-hunter/He was on the Mossy Oak Gamekeeper podcast back in January telling the bobcat story. Seemed like an interesting guy with an exceptional property
