Talk about a simple truck , I had a '68 IH Scout with a 1/2 cab , 196ci 4 cylinder , 4.27 gears , power-loc rear. Wish I still had that little feller.

Everybody would buy one, and thats why they won't go back to making it. I wouldn't. I like leather and the bells and whistles on modern trucks. Adaptive/Super Cruise is awesome. Cruise control and a very cold AC are my primary requirements. I can live without all the other fancies. Although I do like my blue tooth adaptive transmitter for the stereo. I hate listening to modern radio stations. An engine that doesn't require a computerized diagnostic checkup would be nice, for sure. But like you, I darn sure love cruise control, Bluetooth capability and Sirius XM despite all of their commercials and breaks. The channel hosts need to STFU and just play music or whatever is programmed.

I post this 1/2 in jest. The “modern simple truck”. It weighs like 4500 lbs despite being very small. If they insist on this type of vehicle, at least go down the ‘plug in hybrid’ route so the battery can be smaller and you have access to a small engine at times. It will be a long while before I give in to this electric vehicle deal. I’ll be interested to see if this “simple” one sells though. https://www.slate.auto/en

And an 08 long bed Tacoma with a 4.0. Don't have to say anymore about that one. Finding a true long bed is like finding a comely redhead who isn't batsh*t crazy. Almost impossible. Everything is king/full cab with about a 4.5-foot bed that holds suitcases or a few bags of mulch.

Very useful around the farm and hunting I had a 4x4 1999 Chevrolet extended cab, long wheel base. That thing was so long you could park it in 2 different time zones.  I had a high back camper on it to keep my hunting gear dry too so it had the "grandpaw" look to it. I wish I still had it.

Exactly. When he said the price and said it will be 100% when I'm done, and I'll stand behind it forever. You have a problem, send it back and let's us know what's going on, we will fix it. I've honestly found more specialty shops in the back of Mustang Club of America and Hemmings magazines than online. Those guys been doing it so long they don't know what the hell facebook and social media is. Who’s doing your combination valve, if you don’t mind sharing? I’ve got a 78, that the brake system acts a little weird sometimes. I’m thinking it’s the combination valve on it.

I hope my simple truck last my lifetime. 97 Tacoma. Single Cab 5 speed 4x4. Mostly cold AC and still plays cassette tapes Hoping my 99 Taco lasts until I'm tired of it. 288K miles on it. CD play went tits up a few years back
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

A few weeks ago I saw a 1970 Cheby SWB 4x4 Restomod on FBMP. It was a very near perfect body/frame before the tear down. The final product had an LS engine, long tube headers coming through the fenderwells and all the nice amenities that we like....AC, Cruise, Bluetooth everything, etc. With 3 miles on it the price was $130,000. Beautiful gold and white as per the original paint but too many electronics for my taste. I wish I still had my first new truck......... 1977 Chevy C20 that I bought new in 1978 at Paul Smith Chevy in Albertville for $4995.

Not to be a Debbie downer, I like old trucks and tractors as much as anyone. Still own both of em. But them old trucks wasn’t baby chit compared to these new trucks. Mechanic shops stayed just as busy in them old days as they do now. Best thing ever came out was EFI, and 4 wheels disk brakes. Look at the HP and stopping power these new trucks got. I pull 20,000 often behind a ‘20 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummings. Move a JD 650H dozer with it. No way a 1989 1 ton would do it with the ease as that ram does. And any other new model 1 ton will do the same thing. Them old trucks wasn’t work to drive too, wasn’t near as comfortable either. But I’ll probably always have some kind of old truck and tractor floating around. I’ll always prefer the newer stuff to make money with though. 😁

Iam very pleased with my 24 reg cab silverado base model, it doesn't have cruise control just alot of plastic and the only option is 4x4. It's alot closer to driving a car than even a double cab.

Wonder how much a set of plain rims that are on the new Broncos cost. Tire shops were selling them at scrap yards for a few cents a pound because people wanted the fancy white spoke rims.

If we could get the EPA out of regulating things, we might get some where. I just don't see where a quart of oil every thousand miles is normal oil consumption. Synthetic oil plus low tension rings are not a good combo. Exactly. The 5.3L GM comes brand new using oil. That was a great engine back when it was called a 327 before the Obama fucked everything up.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.
