Tallest jalapeno is over 6 feet. Most are around 5 feet. This variety was only supposed to be around 3 feet tall. Tomatoes over 8 feet tall

Are they producing though? My shortest peppers out produce my tallest. I don't equate tall and pretty and green with success. For me, it's about the produce. Large, with large quantities. Otherwise, I might as well be flower gardening.

Not being rude, went through the same thing last year. I don't care how tall. Preferably 3' with tons of large peppers.

FFP - I can see the peppers in the picture. Whatever he is doing is definitely working.

300gr - that is an OUTSTANDING looking picture, my wife and I absolutely love pepper poppers and have had a pretty good year; but, I must admit that I am jealous of what you have going on. We can't compete with your success.

They are producing plenty of pepper

Mine are in grow bags and not in the ground with compost but my method is to fertilize them with something balanced or slightly higher nitrogen but then as soon as they start putting blooms and fruiting I switch it to liquid 5-10-10 which slows the stalk growth back a bit and leans more into the blooms and fruit. It’s worked pretty good so far.

One day I’m gonna get into composting but my main plants are all acid loving and you gotta be careful with stuff like Black Kow or the like. Maybe I can make a high acidity compost pile.

That's pretty much what I'm doing. I wasn't meaning the first post to be ugly. I was looking on a device I couldn't zoom in.

I've noted my poblanos tend to grow very tall. My jalapenos not as tall. Big Jim, Bell and others are in the middle height. I guess that's exactly what I'd expect.

The soil I used was a compost mix. And the plants love it so far.

My Bro in Law uses it on his Garden, (they own horses), and has great results. They live in Georgia though.

Y’all just make sure, when using manure, that the animals haven’t been fed hay from a field treated with grazon.
It will pass right on through in the manure, and will kill your plants.

Horsechit makes some of the best watermelons you can eat. I should have proof in a few weeks.

Picked 10 gallons this morning

Pretty decent size and shape. Poppers in the future? What brand / type?
How many plants for 10 gallons.

22 plants. They are really starting to load up. Jedi and pantera variety
Right now cowboy candy. Next pepper jelly then regular pickled peppers. Will stuff some along the way

They look good. Mine didn't ripen all at once. I've got 30 different peppers. 5 or 6 varieties. The Hossinator, Cinder, megatron and Colossus. I honestly forgot which was which. Markers faded.

I planted 4 of each of those. Then a bunch of different mild peppers. Some of mine get about the size you have in the photo. But they don't ripen at the same rate and aren't all that big when they change color.

I've made efforts to leave them alone to get as big as they can, but when they change color I pick them. About once a week I use the larger ones to stuff and wrap in bacon, eat it as dinner.

About every two or three weeks, I cut the little ones that ripened up and pickle them. Not sure if I'd rather pick them all at once like you or eat as we go, like we are doing. I'm not sure what I'd do with 10 gallons of peppers that size all at once.

These are supposed to produce all the growing season as long as they are picked. Lots of new ones already on plants.

I sometimes harvest the larger to put more energy into the smaller, but that's rare. Especially on the bells. My wife and I both want to harvest and use some of the bells and big jims. But have to make ourselves hold off to let them get as big as they can. I won't harvest unless they are turning color.

What's the secret to bells? I've never been able to get them large like you find in stores

Damned if I know. Largest one I got was a little bigger than a large orange. I leave them alone unless they turn color, then I pick them. Got a bowl full of medium to orange size. In addition to other mild peppers.

Wife seems to like Poblano and Red Marconi the best. We cut them into medium size chunks. Cook spanish rice with HB meat and onions. Toss it all together with crushed tomatos and make a stuffed pepper casserole.

Pull the little ones off. Only leave about 5 peppers on the plant at onece. This doesn't work as well late in the season, because they put on so many blooms it hard to keep them all off
