If GM would build this again, I would buy a new truck.

I wouldn't.

I like leather and the bells and whistles on modern trucks. Adaptive/Super Cruise is awesome.

Used to drive around a Black, Stepside 64 Chevy. Straight 6, and 3 on the tree. Thing was a Tank.

Cruise control and a very cold AC are my primary requirements. I can live without all the other fancies.
Although I do like my blue tooth adaptive transmitter for the stereo. I hate listening to modern radio stations.

Just sold my 84 Chevy k10 a while ago.
It had all the amenities you could want.
Cruise, air, tilt wheel, power windows and door locks, you name it.
Just got too expensive to upkeep for this old man.

Best trucks I ever owned was an 86 K10 and a Ford ( I forget what model) 4x4 shortbed with a 4 speed manual and a 300 straight 6.
I need a truck now but I’m at a loss as to what to buy
Thinking a 2017-2019 F250 with the 6.7 deleted
Looked at a 2500 Chevy yesterday….Duramax. 78,000 bucks
I told the salesman that’s big money in some circles

I used to have a 79 K10. Thing was pure hell in the woods. Wish I still had it.

There is not a week that goes by that I wish I wasn't such a dumbshit and sold my OSB Ford 4x4 shortbed with the 300ci inline 6 and the 5 speed to my lawn and garden guy. Every time he comes up to the cabin to do the grass I kid with him about selling it back to me. I gave him all kinds of stuff for it that I hadn't installed on it yet, and he hasn't done the first thing to it except carry around lawn equipment. He ain't even fixed the seat.

I was going to keep it and the Jeep and sell the Ram 1500, but Boho loves the 1500, and I will admidt it is a great road trip car, plus it has all the ammenities without too much complication like direct injection, cylinder deactivation, auto start/stop. The 8 speed transmission on it is hands down the best automatic transmission I have ever had in any vehicle. It's better than our son's Porsche Cayenne.

I will say fuel injection is great. I like carburetors and all, but fuel injection is great.

Got a 79, 82, and 83 K10. 95 3500 454. I can put a lot of gas in one before it offsets the cost of a new truck or a 8-10 speed rebuild. Also if it breaks down on side of road I can normally have it running within an hour

We could go back to big block 350’s, 4 barrel carbs, and leaded gas if it wasn’t for the damn govt regulations. I’ll never say the manufacturers are squeaky clean in this, but when you have to make a vehicle that has to get a certain mpg, certain level of omissions, etc you wind up with aluminum bodies, 4cyl turbos and computers out the ass.

My K10 got maybe 10mpg. Going 20 or 60 mph. The rear end gear was the reason. But loved that truck.

You would lose. 🤣 The newest truck I own is a 2008 Chevy Silverado and the newest car is my wife’s 2012 Santa Fe.
