GOOGLE: Yes, the 2026 GM 6.2L V8 engine comes equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM). This is GM's advanced cylinder deactivation system that allows the engine to run on anywhere from two to eight cylinders depending on the driving conditions and power demand, saving fuel when cruising.
GM has not produced a mass-market 6.2L engine without fuel management since the previous generation (L86) was discontinued in 2018, though aftermarket companies offer upgrades to disable the DFM system.
Plus the manufacturer recommends Premium gas at $4.16 - $4.56 a gallon in central AL.
