Keep seeing this on X and FB The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was left in shambles by the Biden administration, with one site rendered inoperable, equipment purchased but never installed and left to rot in the weather, and sites poorly maintained.
The previous administration also drained 180 million barrels before the 2022 midterms and never fully refilled the reserves.
The Trump administration is now having to invest significant resources to repair the damage and restore the reserve’s functionality.
Critics are calling out the Biden-era decisions as reckless mismanagement that wasted taxpayer dollars and weakened America’s energy security.
Trump is once again left cleaning up a major mess years after the fact.

Yes, the Biden administration was heavily criticized for leaving the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) with aging, deferred maintenance and infrastructure. However, these structural issues pre-date his term, and his administration drew significant fire for historically massive drawdowns.

I don’t know just been seeing these articles all over social media. It’s been mentioned before on here and always been attributed to trump. Biden did sell off and it was reported but it was also reported they refilled. Folks were bitching on here because it was at a higher price. These new reports are saying facilities were damaged purposefully. Maybe they’ve been working on it and made it public, maybe they just now figured it out No one will trust whatever is reported

As for the SPR seems like I remember Trump tried to fill them when oil got cheap during Covid but was blocked by Congress
