My mom, 81, years old is in constant afib but according to her cardiologist, most older folks are. They have shocked her heart a total of 5 times to try and get it back in rhythm. Worked for a while then went right back into afib. They told her she isn’t a candidate for the ablation or the watchman. Something to do with the way the “electrical firing” of her heart is. The bad thing though is the meds she has to be on because this will eventually destroy her kidneys.
