An hour away from the crazies in Asheville, NC would be fine for me temperature wise. You don't see much in the 90's for a long period.

I’ve always said if I was independently wealthy, I live in the mountains near Lake Tahoe in the summer and on the intercoastal waterway in Florida in the winter.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Had an experience a few years ago where I got bit around the ankle while hiking in Montana. Only about 5-6 bites as that was what was exposed. Swelled up bad that day and after. Weird thing was a year later, I had a relapse and had another reaction. Never had that before or since.

As for the weather, I’m over this heat myself. I think it’s because I’ve gotten older but 3 shirts a day and 2 showers is getting old.🥵
I lived in Great Falls in the mid 70's. You aint just shittin' about them skeeters. I remember being at the giant springs fish hatchery on the missouri river there. I've seen the dang mosquitoes so thick, they looked like fog over the river. They'd tote you off & hold you for ransom. I just don't see how those evil SOBs' can take the winters there.

I know September isn’t the start of fall, but it sure feels like the humidity starts dropping soon into September. Maybe it’s just that I am used to it by then I don’t know.

Visiting St Louis over the past weekend and realizing it’s hotter than hell inches concrete jungle. I thought is was hit at the farm or out and about around here. All that concrete and asphalt along with the canyons of steel and concrete those winds are hot.

We start at 4:30 each morning. We usually wrap up the jobs before 11:30 and call it a day. We have to start early because I am now working for a school system and the sports teams start at 5:00. We try to cut certain areas before they get there.

I hate summer with a passion! Hurry up fall.

Only good thing about this summer has been that I have saved $$$$! Not running my sprinkler system this year. On the other hand, the older I get, the more I hate the heat!!!!!

You would like the PNW. It's one of the coolest places I have ever visited. And I am using both meanings of "coolest."

We're headed to the mountain house today up on Lookout Mountain, but I have been seriously thinking of selling the place and buying something in the Northern Cascades or the Olympic Peninsula. Both places are very rural and have a lot of conservative folks. Lots of outdoor stuff to do there too. Not to mention, the mountains are absolutely beautiful there.

I'll be considering this post when it gets cold and I'll post on here how I'm freezing to death. I'm completely a fair weather queen. I have learned that hypothyroid folks, like myself, are sensitive in both directions, intolerant of heat and cold. Nightly, no matter the season, I crawl in bed with icicle toes.

I do feel for you fellas who work outdoors... I don't know how you do it. I prefer summer...and am sad to see it go. But I don't work out in it, thankfully.

football practice was rough yesterday, i was ringing wet just after adjusting helmets before the practice even started. We had a coach that had to sit down for 30 minutes to take a break.

I was reading about high school band practices, football practice, etc, and every organized outdoor activity for school aged and college aged kids being out in the heat. GOTTA hydrate and keep hydrating!
