According to Hebrews 2:7 we were created just a little lower than angels. Angels have free will with the example of the Nephilim being discussed here and satan and those who choose to follow him. Can they come and go in our reality today is interesting to say the least. The Bible tells us that Satan is actively searching out those whom he can destroy. Is that strictly thru thoughts or can something physical be involved 🤷

Rick Burgess' most recent strange encounters podcast dipped into a little of that. He had Mac Brunson on there saying that Angels actually did make the decision to follow Lucifer out of Heaven. So we must surmise that they do have some sort of supernatural abilities to enter and depart Heaven differently than we can. This also implies that they have free will to follow whoever they want

There also seems to be demons out there that "outrank" Angels. in the Book of Daniel we see that an angel was delayed several weeks delivering a message by a stronger Demon and he had to call in Michael the Archangel for backup. Interesting to think about

However, I do not know that it really is something we can get into. You got a hard enough time trying to get people to understand the Triune God and how the Holy Spirit works in their lives and to let the Gospel and Redemption radically rescue you from default damnation that comes with implicit sin. So Angel behavior is kinda far down the list..

The fact there were people considered "giants" doesn't mean they were Nephilim. People with creative imaginations seem to want to make this connection in order to make everything fit into a tidy explanation... but the bible never makes that connection. BTW, ever seen middle eastern people? Just about everyone else compared to them would be considered "large", especially people of that ancestry in bible times (average male was 5'5" to 5'7"). Also, just like with the ten spies, Caleb was not an inspired man. To make definitive claims about these sorts of things, we need inspired men/writers to verify it. Otherwise, it's just myths and legends that we're dealing with.

Serious question... IF we've been "lied to about everything by the powers that be", that would mean God has deliberately withheld necessary information from mankind for some time now. We're not talking about a few years... we're talking centuries. When one studies how the bible got into our hands, he/she vividly sees the providential hand of God at work. When we talk about books that were/were not included in the canon, this gets very serious very quickly.

God hasn’t withheld anything that we needed to know. However, Satan has covered up and deceived billions of ppl. He’s been doing it from the beginning of mankind. I think Satan and fallen angels have corrupted media and institutions to withhold truth to cause doubt and discord about the truth found in the Bible.

I would say free will and human corruption, greed, and the abuse of power is why we are lied to about everything. I agree it's a slippery slope talking about why some books aren't included in the Canon. I like Dr. Jeremiah Johnston explanation about why the Book of Enoch and other books were not included in the Bible because they fail the tests of historical authorship, divine inspiration, and historical alignment with the Jewish canon.

Good post. People really need to hear the other side of the story of the assembly of the biblical canon before drawing conclusions... not just take the word of the one side that's trying to advance itself.

That information is from an inspired writer, so it's factually true. However, there's NOTHING in the bible that claims the Anakim and Nephilim were related. People want to make imaginative assumptions to make it be so. Robert Wadlow is on record as being the tallest man in modern history (8'11')... but that doesn't mean he's descended from the Nephilim.

He had the Pituitary Gland disorder, like so many others have had throughout history. Keep in mind somebody like Shaq or LeBron or a lot of WWE wrastlers would have been called giants back in the day. Heck, they are giants today but we know they are just humans.

I agree this is Satan's world. It's a good thing we know who wins in the end. It seems that, for at least the last 150 years, you can just about forget 75% of everything you have learned about history, geopolitics, healthcare, etc., as it has all been propaganda driven. We have so much information at our fingertips now, which is why so many people are waking up. Of course, that requires critical independent thinking, and that is getting less and less common these days. I think it is all the fluoride and atrazine in the water.
