If I picked up an 10’ drop spreader what kind of spreading fee could I charge hunting clubs for ag lime and/or fertilizer? Per field vs per acre would be a consideration I would have to ponder. Distance would be a factor too. The costs would add up pretty quick to a point maybe I can’t offer the service low enough to offset them using Pelletized lime and a spinner on their tractor or ATV. Trying to offset the cost of the tool, tractor and maintenance with a little left over for my time.

I gotta find a side hustle that motivates me to get up and move when I retire in a couple of years.

The coop near me is $25 a ton to be spread min of 10 tons. I'll pay it in a heartbeat after having to drive an hour to get a buggy load it, drive back and spread it, come back and do it again after reloading.

Does anyone know of a co op around Coosa County that will sell and spray lime on green fields? Or of anyone in Coosa County that will spread lime on green fields in Coosa County

From what I’ve seen it’s way cheaper if you can get a line truck to come out… I used Thomasville one for 8 tons and they were great but was more expensive and a lot of work given I was 45 min from there. I looked like a Mexican truck squatting in the back of my 23 tundra with 8 tons of lime plus hopper weight 😂

U approach 8 - get a tractor - had buddy that bent a frame - it was under 10 tons

Typed that wrong. Did 8 tons total but in two separate trips of 4 tons lol

My NRCS won't let me carry the lime spreader loaded. Trying to get bulk lime dumped and then separately load the spread was more trouble than it was worth. I ended up just going the pelletized route.
