I am having one done on Monday. I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Afib five weeks ago. I had the cardioversion that only lasted about a week. I was wonder if any of you have had one and how did it work out for you.

My Mother had one at 90 ; she went through several cardioversions that did not last. I helped her quality of life till she passed at almost 92. She had a Watchman before that because she could not tolerate blood thinners.

Wife had it done and it helped but didn't completely cure her afib. She says it doesn't bother her enough to worry about now.

I need one, but metropolal helps mine alot. Maybe I spelled it right. I tried it before having surgery. Been great so far. Might be an option?

I have had 2 I am getting a watchman next month. I had the inversion and it worked for about 2 years. The first ablation took about a week to start working. The second one has been great no problems in almost 2 years. The watchman will get me off blood thinners which I have been on for 25 years. Good luck the worst part was getting a shave from my neck to my knees.

Had one last November and all has been well since. Very easy recovery and was playing golf within a few days.

Brother had one done about five years ago. He was 35 ish. He’s only had one again and it was a couple weeks ago since. No issues what so ever.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Yes metal, i take it normally for blood pressure also. If you start having afib, take another half and it almost instantly stops it. Usually within 15 minutes or so. I was informed to do that at the heart center in Huntsville. It works.

My daughter had one. Made her symptoms better but didn't completely do away with it. Her drinking Red Bull and other caffeine probably isnt helping

I had one Dec 2024 and was a easy procedure. The room was like the starship Enterprise and the technology was way cool! The fixed the one spot that was causing the problems and have not had an issue since. Doc and the team were great and got out quick. My only gripe was I had it done at Grandview Medical and it took accounting forever to send me a refund.

I am prescribed the metoprolol but haven't had to take it. the cardiologist only said to take it if my heart rate was consistently over 110 bpm. I appreciate everyone's input .

I've had 6 or 8, and it's an outpatient procedure. I've had open heart twice, so my last ablation, they said they wouldn't do another one- there's not much there that's NOT scar tissue. If they do enough of them, they begin to worry about regurge issues as they approach the back wall of the heart, as recall.

I had a pulsed field ablation back in March. No AFIB since. Got to Grandview at 5:30AM and was eating lunch in Cahaba Heights at 1:30PM. Nothing to it. I tipped the gal $10 for shaving my nuts, do you think that was enough?
