For me (as a young hunter) I would focus too much on the whole deer, then get nervous, then jerk and shoot high.
Now I start my pin low on the deers front leg, ease back behind the knuckle and release. I also started taking at least two seconds to pull the release. I start putting pressure on the release and it usually takes me 2 seconds to go off. I do that even if I’m target shooting.
Doesn’t hurt to count in your head, start pressure, one thousand, two thousand and it goes off.
I HATE when I punch the trigger. I’ve done it a lot over the years.
Good luck!
A lot of people call that a slow punch.
