Only one time I have killed a certain deer i had on camera. Big 6pt second week of Bow Season. Most deer I'm looking for are never in that spot on that day.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

How do the Midwest states keep their age structure in good shape?
Wise people see how others are successful and do what they do or don’t do.

Wise people see how others are successful and do what they do or don’t do. They have different priorities. They have a 10-day gun season and bow during rut. Southerners value a longer gun season with more opportunities. Reasonable people can approach an issue differently.

They might have different priorities than you. And that 10 day gun season is not true. They are much shorter but all except Illinois are longer than 10 days including shotgun and muzzle loader. I would love for that to be what Alabama went to with similar bag limits on bucks. So what is your suggestion as an effective approach to getting the Alabama age structure in good shape?

Well, let’s all be glad you don’t get it all your way. End of the day, don’t blame other hunters for you not killing big bucks. Become a better hunter. 😁

I didn’t say I don’t kill big bucks, I guess you just assume I don’t. But I was talking about fixing the age structure of the Alabama herd. I never said I don’t kill big bucks and I want to and it’s other hunter’s fault. I just said if something that someone else does fixes a problem you have, then it would be wise to see how they do it and apply it to your problem. I kill a buck about once every 4-5 years because I am picky about it. I could kill 2-3 bucks a year most people around here would be extremely proud of. Killing a 120” 10 point doesn’t do much for me, I’d rather shoot a doe if I’m not killing a deer because of his head gear.

Uh oh, I must have misread. Kill what you want pwyse I’ll respect it. It sounded like you was crying cause we had gun days and everyone didn’t hunt like the wild Indians did back when buck was a calf. Apologies for misunderstanding

I do love to bow hunt. But I also love to sit in a shooting house with the windows closed and my Ruger propped up in the corner and the heater going with a ball game on the iPad. Especially on those bitter cold windy days.

From a buck a day to 3 was plenty. NO STATE should model their seasons after a horn hunters opinion. With that said, I only hunt mature deer but it's just what "I" do. As far as age structure in Alabama, it won't happen, too many deer. Shorten the season to just a couple weeks and the age class definitely will get worse. Everyone wants less government and state involvement in things until it tickles their fancy...
