Heading to midwest this year and have a savage 220 slug gun. What is a great scope for this shotgun? Thanks in advance.

I have the same gun I use to hunt public land and have a Zeiss Diavari Z 1.5-6x42 on it.
I like the low power for hunting in the woods out a climber where the shots are <50 yards. 6x is good enough to reach out to the guns max range of 200 yards say on a foodplot.

I have a Burris Fullfield 4 on mine. 3-12×56. Probably gonna test it out to the max this year.

I run a Leupold 3 x 9 on my Browning A-Bolt. I find the higher power is useful for seeing deer is thick brush at longer distances.

I ended up picking up a Vortex Diamondback 3.5x10x50 for $300 at Bass Pro. Hunting early winter in Ohio. I hope I remember to give everyone an update. LOL

Those Savage 220's are total heaps of crap. I will help anyone's life that has one and buy it from you. This is only to help out you poor souls that are currently being diminished and held back by this gun.
These guns are way worser than calds and Clorox stumps.

I have a Vortex Viper 3.5x10x50 mm on my 220 and I’ve killed a bunch of deer with it. 220 + Vortex 50mm…. You won’t have an excuse now! 🤣. Good luck on your upcoming trip. 👍👍
