Looks like NPR retracted its statement and said they published in error. I saw where Fox News and CBS reported a few months ago that he has already started hiring his law clerks and doesn’t plan to retire this year. If any of the judges retire or die, you can be certain that Trump will pick somebody consistent with the others he has picked.

ACB is the only swing and miss.

I would much rather Trump appoint a New Supreme Justice than a Hard Core Democrat appoint another Liberal Democrat to the bench. I would think most here on this board would too so I ain’t going to complain about who Trump pick’s if He does get to appoint another one.

ACB is the only swing and miss. ACB was NOT a miss when appointed. Since the Dobbs (abortion back to states) decision she have multiple death threats and changed her voting habits due to fear. Prior to Dobbs she aligned with the conservative judges >80% of the time now it is 50%. She needs to recuse herself due to fear preventing her from effectively doing her job. The constant terrorism from the left is very effective. They are never held accountable.

Not that it would make a difference but at least then it would feel like we had a say in the matter.

Hmmm, according to GROK, Beer Belly's numbers are pretty accurate. 2020-2021 term: ~65% conservative 2021-2022 term: ~81% conservative 2022-2023 term: ~57-59% conservative 2023-2024 term: ~50-57% conservative

She wasn’t a bad pick, I’d rather her than someone that just automatically sides with GOP on everything. Judges aren’t supposed to be hardline political. If anything the rest of the court could learn from her on how to actually examine a case and determine its merits instead of taking RV’s and gifts and doing what their party says.
And I don’t even agree with a lot of her decisions.

Hmmm, according to GROK, Beer Belly's numbers are pretty accurate. 2020-2021 term: ~65% conservative 2021-2022 term: ~81% conservative 2022-2023 term: ~57-59% conservative 2023-2024 term: ~50-57% conservative I mean no offense by this, but you have provided a great example of why we need to think for ourselves and not outsource thinking to A.I. How is Grok defining "conservative?" By outcome of the case (what about cases with no obvious partisan valence)? By alignment with other conservative judges (if so, is it any conservative judge, all conservative judges?)? How is it calculating when ACB concurs in the judgment, concurs in part, or concurs and write separately? How is it weighing the interim/emergency docket versus the merits docket? For the 2025-2026 term, ACB's vote aligned with Clarence Thomas and Alito (the two most right-wing justices) 88% of the time. She agreed with Gorsuch 91% of the time and Kavanaugh 88% of the time. In 5-4 and 6-3 decisions, she aligned with Thomas and Gorsuch 81% of the time and Alito 77% of the time. To compare, in those cases she voted with KBJ and Sotomayor (the two most liberal justices) 19% of the time. She is known for writing opinions that directly refute KBJ's dissents. She sided with Trump in the Cook case, Slaughter case, TPS immigration case, and asylum cases. She voted for the conservative position on the trans-sports case, conversion therapy ban, Hawaii gun control case, and federal firearms possession case. That's just this term and doesn't include presidential immunity decisions or overturning Roe. The idea that she is some moderate squish is just not true.
