So last ML season was a disaster. I think I got behind on my T/C Hawken 50 cal maintenance. This year I will not make the same mistake. My set up last year was generic #11 nipples I got off Amazon, Pyrodex, T/C shockwave sabots, and regular CCI caps. My biggest problem manifested with unreliable cap ignition. I had worked through some hang fire and dry fire issues, but I always got the cap to pop.
Upon inspection, the spring looks good to me, but the hammer/side lock was loose. I've also upgraded to a T/C Hotshot nipple (recommended for pyrodex), and pyrodex select powder. Also upgrading CCI Magnum caps. I don't think this will make a difference with ignition, but going to ball. I think I might get more accuracy and use less powder.
Thoughts?

I put 209 adapters on my sidelocks, and my ignition issues are a thing of the past.

I had one of these, or something very similar with a 209 primer, blow out and break the hammer on my T/C Hawken. That was back in the 80's and I have no idea why it has so much back pressure. Probably operator error!
