That's been the SOP for years both for a semblance of continuity and deference to the widow/widower. Y'all don't let your hatred of the gov't outweigh the way it has been for many, many years for practical reasons. Let her finish his term and then the people of SC can choose who they want in that seat. Letting it continue "the way it has been for many, many years" is why we are in this boat and up this creek This right here. Truthfully, they probably made them all from the first day he took office. That worked out just fine didn't it?

(Just thought I'd post something up here that wasn't bashing a dead guy.) He did take over as her guardian but I don't think he formally adopted her. If i were in charge, i would break tradition. I would appoint a decent human being , qualified to do the job! But hey, im ignorant! How do you know she isn't a decent human being? Somehow, I think your post is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

[ He became her guardian first and then adopted her. ...After Graham finished law school and joined the U.S. Air Force as a military lawyer, he took the step to legally adopt Darline. As reported by The Wall Street Journal and NPR, the adoption was primarily a practical and protective decision to ensure she could receive his military and government benefits if anything were to happen to him.

Senate hasn't done anything in the past two years with Thune.
Only thing they've advanced has been more spending and pushing through that Section 8 housing bill
They'll be on vacation more than anything while she's there.

They'll be on vacation more than anything while she's there. Yup. That Section 8 bill is gonna expand things into the suburbs. Trump had a chance to veto it, but he didnt.
