For inexpensive baitcasters, I like the H2O (Academy store brand) stuff. I've also got one that is a lower-end Abu Garcia reel I picked up for $50ish and put it on an All Star Rod I got on sale for maybe $25-30. Caught a lot of fish on that combo too.

I have no illusions that these are "just as good" as $200-400 combos...I know they're not. But I see no reason to spend big $$$ on gear as a "weekend warrior" type fisherman when the inexpensive stuff is more-than-sufficient for what I need
