So first year growing sunflowers, planted clarified. I’m sure it’s because of soil quality but I’ve got some that are 4 ft tall and are heading out and then the other side of the field the tallest one is is 10 inches tall. Some details, I broadcast planted them and then about 3 weeks after they sprouted I fertilized them with 13-13-13, then about 2 weeks after that I sprayed imizamox on the weeds. Is there anything I can do the help the other side of the field that’s not doing so good??
how is the distribution of plants where it’s short? Also, how much sun is that spot getting versus the other you mentioned? Sounds like you got a heavy germination and they are competing or it’s not getting enough sunlight. They can’t make up the difference with fertilizer at this stage in my opinion.
