Its easy to remember that 100 yards is 91.44 meters. When the ball is on the 50 yard line its on the 45.72 meter line...geez. How hard is that to remember?

Yep, oil is a commodity traded worldwide and is still measured in barrels. A few things are still measured in hogsheads and puncheons. yeah when you hear the phrase "Butt Load" that is actually a real unit of measurement.

They even use it in the metric system although a metric ass ton is heavier than a short or long ass ton!

I think its dumb. If we are giving $ to 197 countries, they can use our units of measure.

Born learning disabled in math. Metric is another bunch of numbers that make no sense.

Speaking of waffles....how the hell is Belgium known for waffles when they don't have a single Waffle House in the whole dang country?
And besides, Waffle House waffles are way better than Belgian Waffles anyway

I wish we had gone ahead and converted to the metric system back in the 70's. Everybody would be used to it by now.
It is a much more logical system, but it is difficult for Americans to comprehend...
Much like the traffic Roundabout. Folks don't even know how to use a median, much less a round about. or the left hand lane... .........or turning lane or merge lane.
"Why do you ask"?
Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

fuck a roundabout and any highway engineers that like them. You would hate the areas around Athens and Huntsville. They're changing intersections to a roundabout all around the area.

And besides, Waffle House waffles are way better than Belgian Waffles anyway I disagree. Last waffle i ordered at WH was soggy and shitty. A good Belgian waffle is far better than WH ever dreamed of making.

A good Belgian waffle is far better than WH ever dreamed of making. That's because the meth'd out crackhead that cooked it didn't cook it long enough. They either weren't paying attention or they were so slammed and in a rush they took it out early. Belgian waffles are too big and clunky, and the little squares are too big. A [correctly cooked] WH waffle dominates them every day and twice on Sundays

fuck a roundabout and any highway engineers that like them. It isn't the engineers that like them, but it is the people controlling the purse strings as a Roundabout is much, much, cheaper to maintain than a traffic light. People don't realize how expensive redlights are to install and then maintain. I hate the damn crossings like the one on 82 in Centerville where you've got to turn and go up the highway then do a U-turn and go back down the highway to go across.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Much like the traffic Roundabout. Celsius sucks ass for using as an everyday temperature scale.

But for the rest, my tape measure in English does just find. And after being stationed in England for 4 years.......roundabouts are a good thing until you hit the ones with 3+ lanes.

I can comprehend the metric system a lot easier.
I enjoy having to use my brain to convert fractions.

Double Celsius plus 30 degrees is close to Fahrenheit.
Fahrenheit minus 30 degrees divided by 2 is Celsius.
Example - 90 F (minus 30 = 60)/2 = 30 Celsius. Exact scientific would be 32.2 degrees Celsius, but it's really close.
Zero Celsius x 2 + 30 = 30 F. 100 C x 2 + 30 = 230.
Freezing to boiling, somewhere between 2 and 18 degrees margin of error.
I learned that watching "The Great White North" with Bob McKenzie and his brother Doug. How's it goin, Eh?

It isn't the engineers that like them, but it is the people controlling the purse strings as a Roundabout is much, much, cheaper to maintain than a traffic light. True, but that roundabout on 72 heading to Mississippi gets me every time. I always take the first exit, not the second one.
