I think I’ve bought at least 1 of every 3/8 to 1 inch electric impact ever made. Milwaukee and Matco are hands down the best in 1/2 and 3/4 for life and strength
I have a dewalt that'll do 90% of what I do at the farm. About the only time I bring something else home is tractor tires or bushhog blades something like that

If you go the Milwaukee route, buy the fuel model they are the strongest. Batteries are the $$$ Correct and they're so many Chinese fakes out there that are dang near perfect in appearance but the cells are trash. Yep; bought some off Amazon that were DOA. Sent them back; bought Milwaukee batteries on sale at Home Depot. Dead in 6 months. Milwaukee replaced them and paid freight both ways, though. They have a very easy warranty program online.

One thing you can do is buy adaptor that you can use whatever batteries you already have and get a different brand of tool. I have a lot of Dewalt tools but I wanted a few different tools that I would rarely use so I bought some Bauer tools from Harbor Freight and then ordered a couple of adapters from Amazon.

My cousin is a Milwaukee dealer and we were talking about this last night. His rep told him they will not honor warranty of anything purchased off there. They do not sell to Amazon. I have always heard their warranty process was pretty seamless, haven't had to use it.

I bought a slew of the Bauer brand stuff from Harbor Freight and everything has held up well. Batteries and tools are a lot cheaper than Milwaukee and other brands so I figure I can buy two or three before I spend what I’ll spend on big brands. The batteries lone for Milwaukee and Dewalt are crazy expensive. This, I love the Bauer stuff and Harbor Freight. So far I've bought the tire inflator, 1/2" impact, drill, 4 1/2" circular saw, pole saw and shop vac (110 V). All of it has been good to go. Can't see any reason to spend 3x as much on name brands. Hope to add more tools/batteries as time goes on. Also have a Predator generator and auger. Both have been good.
