Yes I believe that can happen, but they’re still primates, not humans. There’s no supporting evidence in the fossil record, to me, that indicates if humans died today, the primates left on earth would eventually replace us with intelligent, eternal, souls.
That’s actually the exact same scenario I was thinking about too…….If humans died off today could chimpanzees be building rockets a million years from now with the proper diet??.......To me it would take a miraculous event occurring somewhere in the process that would have a probability of one in a gazillion……There would have to be a special brain mutation that occurred that allowed knowledge to build on itself across generations and that accumulated knowledge building be a big part of what shaped that animal instead of just environmental conditions…..To me an improbable brain mutation of that nature is just as miraculous as the literal story…..I think the appreciation for that is being diminished because we want to cling to "the story"
The missing link between us and the chimps is the genetic engineering that the Anunnaki did on us to make us human so we could be their slaves and mine gold for them to save their planet, but we revolted against them and ran them off.
If you really want to take a deep dive read up on the Archons and the Aeons in Gnostic history. That's pretty far out.
I really don't know......are you being serious or sarcastic with that first part?
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.
Now to flip the questioning around let me ask Driveby. Matt and others…….Do you just not believe any of that ^^^^^ to be true??......I know Driveby’s theory but what I’m asking is how do you rectify your idea that humans just appeared with so much evidence that shows we evolved over time…… Explain to me how you “make it work” so to speak…..Which of these different versions of homos do you consider to be human and which do you not....etc..etc
Fair question. For my answer I refer you to Kyle Butt. He has spent many years refuting the "evidence" of evolution. Do a search for "Kyle Butt evolution" and you will find many articles and also videos he has published. He has debated on this subject quite a lot and his explanation is much better than I can word it.

I really think it all revolves around psychology and “cognitive dissonance” more than anything…..This idea of creation is something that’s been hard wired into many people’s brains as a young child and I think its just too hard for us to try and rectify that as an adult…..so we reach for anything that might justify those beliefs
"Cognitive dissonance is the psychological discomfort you feel when holding two or more contradictory beliefs, or when your actions clash with your values. This mental tension drives people to unconsciously justify their behavior or alter their attitudes to restore psychological harmony"

Partly both...
Most of what we know about undocumented history is speculation and theory. Most of what we know about documented history is full of bias, outright propaganda and the writings of the victorious conquerors. Hell... even 99% of all modern news we read today is twisted and biased... Why would we think that recorded history is any different?
So when we talk about ancient history and the origin of human beings, there are still all kinds of theories that may or may not be partly true. All we really have is some physical evidence, lots of legends and stories from ancient texts and a lot of conjecture.
Perhaps when we pass on back to our original spirit forms and we can see it all from a higher plane of existence, we will go, "I can't believe we all thought that was how we all got here." My guess is that it we will all be surprised at what the truth actually is.
All I know is that I'm following God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit as I understand Him. It is still fun to read up on past civilizations, stories, theories and speculate. I don't know that God has ever told us not to question our reality.

Does this sum it all up??
That doesn't sum it all up but is just a small part of it.

The same can be said for both sides. People that have always been taught evolution will never honestly question it as well because it's "uncomfortable". People have a hard time surrendering to the fact that our human minds are not the higher form of power and intellect and feel we need so desperately to "figure it out". It's as you stated in another post, we give ourselves way too much credit.
Got a lot of work to do around the house so I'll check back in tonight. Have a great day guys!

I disagree………No one has ever been taught evolution and told that if they didn’t believe it they would spend eternity burning in a fiery pit of hell……Its not equivalent
Them gorilla legs you got pretty much prove evolution is real.

I hope pastors aren’t preaching that either. Logically, I think it makes sense to believe in biblical creation for many reasons, but evolution don’t send anyone to hell. Rejecting Jesus does that. But let’s look at the larger issue. Either Christ is exactly who he said he was or he’s not. If he is, then the account of creation would be true. If he’s not then it would be untrue. Either the entire account from start to finish is true or it is not. One false account would discredit the entire thing. Does belief in evolution condemn one to hell? No. But I’m not sure how one could believe in Christ and evolution and reconcile the two. Being made in His image doesn’t leave evolution as a possibility, much less a probability.

What you just said is exactly why folks take everything literally even if doesn’t make sense to take a literal interpretation from something that was obviously a “story” being passed down……It has to be all or nothing because anything that might be perceived as gray subconsciously brings on that psychological unrest described in the cognitive dissonance definition…..Once a belief has been engrained in you the way religious beliefs are engrained in children then it becomes almost impossible for your brain to allow anything else in later on that would contradict it…..Even if you wanted to believe it, your brain is still gonna fight against you…..Its akin to the idea I was explaining the other day on why folks grit their teeth in order to agree with me sometimes without really understanding why…..Your brain is subconsciously fighting against something without you being consciously aware of it
That being said……going back to the question I asked about if you believe an animal can go from living in trees to walking on two legs……If you believe that is was possible for that animal to start walking on two legs ……then what part of the rest of the process that this animal went through do you not believe is possible??......We obviously see where its brain also changed over time...... How is all of this “changing” not evolution if we compare what the animal eventually becomes to what it once was??
Evolution and The Bible don’t work together. You either believe in one or the other. For those that are struggling with it, maybe try to dig into God’s Word and really let Him speak through His Word. There is a huge difference between reading His Word as a story book and letting Him speak through His Word. He will give you peace and understanding if you let Him, but God isn’t going to force you to believe in Him. He has given us free will to choose and He loves each and every one of us.
It's interesting as I read these types of threads to read people's comments who claim to be Christians actually get really mean spirited when other people don't believe exactly the same way that they do. You don't convert people to your way of thinking by being an asshole. I mean, I guess it's worked pretty for Muslims over the centuries, but it seems counterintuitive to Christianity.
I don't believe God wants us to come to him out of fear, fear of death, fear of Hell, etc... I think he wants us to come to him out of love and thankfulness and of our free will. Why else would he give us free will?
I certainly don't know everything, I don't claim to. I just have my internal way that I envision God through prayer asking God that he lead me to a greater understand and lead me in the way that he wants me to go. I find other folk's interpretation of scripture and how others see God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Angels, etc... to be interesting, but I'm not actively trying to convert anyone to my way of thinking. My personal relationship with God is just that, personal. Even Boho believes differently than I do on certain aspects of Christianity. We both believe in the basics and both view most of the rest of it as religious dogma for other people to get mad at each other about.

Well said! Everyone's personal relationship with Jesus is uniquely theirs.

They haven't been taught that not believing in evolution will send you to hell but they have absolutely been taught that those who believe in creation are ignorant and unlearned. That's why some will never honestly question evolution, they don't want to be one of those ignorant people. It's "uncomfortable" to be looked on as willfully ignorant. They look down on creationists with the same attitude you mentioned earlier with the "bless your heart" mentality you have experienced from the other side of the coin. That's where the ingraining is the same.

I certainly hope I have not come across that way. I apologize if I have.
On that subject, sometimes people get offended when people try to point out something no matter how you try to come across. It's a defensive mechanism. If I honestly believe in my heart something is good for you and try to present it to you, it's because of concern for your wellbeing. Should I be arrogant about it or mean spirited? Absolutely not. I akin it to a doctor finding something wrong with your heart and telling you that you need to lose weight or cut something out of your diet. It might hurt your feelings a little but he's saying it to try to help you. We don't get mad at the doctor do we?
Have a good Sunday guys!
