If you go the Milwaukee route, buy the fuel model they are the strongest. Batteries are the $$$ Correct and they're so many Chinese fakes out there that are dang near perfect in appearance but the cells are trash.

I bought a Milwaukee. It is bad to the bone. Highest torque rating of any battery impact on the market. The half inch Milwaukee I had wouldn’t do half what my dewalt will do. But it may been a bad one or the “cheaper model” it came in a 5 piece set. The 1/2” deWalt I have will out perform my pneumatic Ingersoll-ran thunder gun. But it’s also 20 years old, so it may be wore out. 😁😁 The ones we have at work (Milwaukee) will ring off studs bigger than your thumb on 3. You have to be careful with it. I wrung off 2 studs on my Chevrolet on 2.

Yeah they're adjustable but you gotta be careful. My brother borrowed mine to pull some wheels off and I said, "absolutely do not use this tool to start the lugs back on the studs. You will strip them quicker than a cat can lick his ass".

I have a Porter Cable that I have not been able to destroy for the last 10 years.
Matter of fact I haven't been able to destroy any of my Porter Cable stuff. I used all of those tools to built the mountain house.
I want to replace it all and get "some good tools" but this stuff just keeps on working so well I can't get rid of it.

I was in the same boat and went with the Bauer from harbor freight and have been extremely pleased. I use it for just that lawn mower blades, changing tires,etc. IF it was something I was going to use a lot I would have gone with Milwaukee.

I use it for just that lawn mower blades, changing tires,etc. IF it was something I was going to use a lot I would have gone with Milwaukee. I have bought into the Bauer stuff down at the beach. I needed some tools for handyman type stuff at the beach and I didn't need "good" tools so I started with the starter set from Bauer at Harbor Freight and they have vastly exceeded expectations. I think it's better stuff than I have at the Mountain House. They are a great value for the money when you can find them on sale. I have the circular saw, jigsaw, drill driver, 1/4" impact, palm sander, blower, work light, jig saw, reciprocating saw & Oscillating Multi-Tool, plus the two noted below... Two additions I have picked up are these and they have been so handy. One is the little air pump that looks like a drill driver and the other one is the little hand vac. Both work fantastic for their intended use. Buddy of mine says no more than you’ll use it, buy one off of Amazon that’ll take your dewalt, Milwaukee batteries.
I have a sawzall and blower that takes dewalt batteries. Gave less than 100 for both.
It’s not like you’re using it every day.

I bought a slew of the Bauer brand stuff from Harbor Freight and everything has held up well. Batteries and tools are a lot cheaper than Milwaukee and other brands so I figure I can buy two or three before I spend what I’ll spend on big brands. The batteries lone for Milwaukee and Dewalt are crazy expensive. Same here.

My take on Harbor Freight is : I buy Harbor Freight cheap tools for 1 time or sporadic jobs. If I use it enough to break it then I research & buy a higher quality tool. Can’t think of anything that I have broken.

I got the model 2967-20 with 1600lb of nut busting torque.
That sumbitch would rip the lug nut off a Ferris wheel if you got a big enough socket.
It's overkill for what I need but it did the job lickety split.
I'd grab that Harbor Freight and get the protection they offer in case it goes tits up on you.

The specs are complete lies most times. The name brands just lie a little less than the Temu types. If you hold the trigger for a full minute you might get close to the "specs". Torque Test Channel runs them all.... good entertainment if you girls can pull yourself away from the night time soaps...LOL!

I have both Milwaukee and Dewalt. For mower blades I just use my little Dewalt 1/4" impact. Mower blades should only be a little past hand tight anyway. No need to weld them in there.
