What would be yalls production rifle choices under 2k be? Bolt action preferably. Im looking at the Winchester M70 Super grade with the Maple Stock. Its a beautiful gun but I have seen varying reviews on the accuracy. Anyone on here have any experience with the new M 70’s??? I just bought a new Kimber Mountain Ascent in 30.06 to take back to Africa in 2028 but its so damn light Im a bit concerned about recoil. I will be putting a suppressor on it so hopefully that will help. Hell, lets just talk rifles for a bit.

Can’t go wrong with Savage
They’re not the best looking rifles but they’re generally accurate right out of the box and they’re reliable

They’re not the best looking rifles but they’re generally accurate right out of the box and they’re reliable Yep, I love a nice wood stocked M70, but a dang Savage is hard to beat, for accuracy, right out of the box.

I have a Sako Bavarian 85L that O bought years ago, in 7mm Rem Mag and it has been a tack driver. looks good and works good. Kileed lots of deer with it.

I also love Sako. I’ve got a custom AV 25-06.
For a production rifle - I’ll say it again, imo the Browning A Bolt II Stainless Stalker got everything right.

You could go with a Tikka and do a couple of upgrades and have a dandy rifle. I think Sako and Tikkas are offeed in 7PRC.

Newer sakos aren’t the same quality as what you’re talking about wew. Still very nice rifles but not the rifle of the past. I have 3 Christensens. Older Christensens are fine rifles. The newer ones can be hit or miss

The newer ones can be hit or miss I have found the same thing Back in the day I should have bought a safe full of the original Browning composite stalkers I don’t like the new ones but those original guns are mighty fine

That 222 is the most accurate centerfire I've ever pulled a trigger on.
