Demand is down,, futures for August are falling. Pork is bottoming out right now. Rice is up more than anything. They say due to fuel prices, people aren't buying as much beef. Not sure why pork is crashing Charts I saw , as of today, show pork futures rising through October . Smithfield Foods stock isn't reflecting a sharp downturn in the near future either. Seen a report today, feeder cow futures down $2 for August and dropping everyday, hog futers dropped every day this week at an already low, and rice was up 40%, higher than beans and corn by a bunch! I dont know anything about the stock market, im talking futures Smithfield Foods is the largest pork producer in the world. China man bought Smithfield and I won’t buy it. Aldi back has been the best lately. Smithfield is fat with some small pieces of meat. They own a bunch of brands that are household names and are in most fridges and cabinets . Really hard to avoid them. Example, those Nathan hotdogs the hotdogs eating contestants will be eating on the 4th at Coney Island are owned by Smithfield.

I’m about to buy some freezers. I know a guy. He has cow and hogs he’s raising to slaughter. Whole, halves and a few quarters on cows and hole or half on hogs. His fil raised red wattles but he has some Berkshire mixes
