Demand is down,, futures for August are falling. Pork is bottoming out right now. Rice is up more than anything. They say due to fuel prices, people aren't buying as much beef. Not sure why pork is crashing Charts I saw , as of today, show pork futures rising through October . Smithfield Foods stock isn't reflecting a sharp downturn in the near future either. Seen a report today, feeder cow futures down $2 for August and dropping everyday, hog futers dropped every day this week at an already low, and rice was up 40%, higher than beans and corn by a bunch! I dont know anything about the stock market, im talking futures Smithfield Foods is the largest pork producer in the world.
